Loughlin pleads not guilty in college scam

The judge granted their requests not to appear.

Actress Lori Loughlin, front, and husband, clothing designer Mossimo Giannulli, left, depart federal court in Boston after facing charges in a nationwide college admissions bribery scandal, on April 3, 2019.

According to TMZ, Loughlin and Giannulli face a minimum of four years and nine months in prison.

Fellow actress Felicity Huffman and 12 other parents have agreed to plead guilty. Prosecutors say she and Giannulli paid $500,000 to a fake charity to get her two daughters accepted into the University of Southern California, falsely designating them as crew recruits.

Loughlin has been criticized for seemingly not taking the indictment as seriously as others.

Cops Open Fire on Car That Rams Ambassador's Vehicle
Police had opened fire on the vehicle after the driver "deliberately rammed" into the diplomat's auto and then drove at officers. The vehicle, which a police source said was a Mercedes, appeared to have been backed into the black auto .

Federal agents obtained emails from Loughlin and a recorded conversation in which Loughlin and Giannulli implicated themselves in the scam, according to the documents.

Loughlin and Giannulli are now facing charges of conspiracy to commit fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Loughlin and Giannulli were two of 33 parents charged in the largest college admissions scandal in American history. Huffman is scheduled to appear in Boston on May 21 to enter her plea.

"She is very concerned about what a guilty plea would do to her daughters, who may not have grasped everything that was going on."
"I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly", Huffman said in a statement. "This transgression toward her and the public I will carry for the rest of my life".

Now, Lori and Mossimo are allegedly "blaming each other" for the situation, but the good news is that their daughter Olivia Jade is reportedly no longer pissed at her parents for ruining her career/making her go to college in the first place (there is *ample* evidence that getting a higher education was not on OJ's priorities list).
