Cops Open Fire on Car That Rams Ambassador's Vehicle

According to the report, at about 10 am, the auto intentionally rammed the official vehicle of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, which was parked near the diplomatic department.

Police said the suspect is a man in his 40s who did not appear to be injured but was taken to a central London hospital for a precautionary check.

Police had opened fire on the vehicle after the driver "deliberately rammed" into the diplomat's auto and then drove at officers.

No one was hurt in the incident, which happened early on Saturday outside the embassy building in the affluent Holland Park area of west London, and it was not being treated as terrorism, police said in a statement.

Chief Superintendent Andy Walker, from the Metropolitan Police's specialist firearms command, said: "As is standard procedure, an investigation is now ongoing into the discharge of a police firearm during this incident".

The silver vehicle's rear right indicator was flashing and its boot and driver's door were open.
