In Williams' Pelicans tenure, he had a 173-221 record and made the playoffs twice, in his first and last seasons there. A season in which new-Laker LeBron James was expected to carry the team to their first playoff appearance since 2013.

LOS ANGELES - A tumultuous week continued for the Los Angeles Lakers as the team announced that it has mutually parted ways with head coach Luke Walton on Friday.

A move to Sacramento then, with its young, raw roster, may be a better fit for Walton heading forward.

LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers a year ago to play for the Los Angeles Lakers.

"This franchise and the city will always be special to me and my family", Walton said in a statement.

"I'm disappointed for Luke", Kerr said via Anthony Slater.

Walton, who went 98-148 in his three seasons as head coach, thanked the franchise and controlling owner Jeanie Buss, who was a staunch supporter of Walton's.

This outbreak has the second greatest number of infected individuals since measles was eradicated in the country in the 2000s. Miriam, who also didn't want to give her name due to privacy concerns, said everyone should be vaccinated.

Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka reportedly had to intervene when Lonzo Ball scheduled unauthorized ankle surgery.

Following Walton's departure from the Lakers, Kerr shared his thoughts on his former understudy.

The NBA Playoffs begin on Saturday and the Golden State Warriors are favorites to win it all again.

Walton and superstar LeBron James, it seemed, never saw eye to eye. L.A. was just 17-31 the rest of the way as James missed 17 games and was in and out of the lineup until he was shut down for the season in late March.

James and the Lakers' players have been uniformly supportive of Walton, who managed to keep his team playing hard and harmoniously under the Los Angeles microscope despite multiple major injuries and distractions. "I want my coach on the same page".

He is rumored to be a candidate for the vacant Kings opening.
