The New 'Star Wars: Episode IX' Trailer Has Dropped

The trailer for the final movie, titled "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker", was dropped at the Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago on Friday.

Lucasfilm/JJ AbramsWhat will be revealed at the Star Wars: Episode IX panel? The major surprise is that Emperor Palpatine appears to be returning to the series as his laughter closes out the trailer.

Fans welcomed the re-appearance of Lando Calrissian, played by Billy Dee Williams, who is seen piloting the Millennium Falcon.

We also get our first teaser for The Rise of Skywalker.

"Star Wars" superfan Stephen Colbert moderated the panel, doing his best to get the tight-lipped cast and creators to reveal anything about the film. Abrams confirmed that the whole new gang - Rey, Poe, Finn, Rose, et al - head out on a new adventure together, much as Leia, Luke, and Lando returned to Tatooine together to rescue Han from Jabba the Hutt.

"This movie is about this new generation, what they've inherited, the light and the dark, and are they ready?" he said.

The movie will be released on December 20, 2019.

Each device signaled an appetite for more diversity in premium device product line-ups from consumers", the report stated. This is probably seen as a disappointment", Fieldhack added.

Carrie Fisher returns thanks to unused footage! Today, the company revealed the full title for Episode 9, which will wrap up the Skywalker Saga more than 40 years after it first started with A New Hope.

Until we've known very little about the game, other than that you'll be able to wield a lightsaber. Abrams announced a year ago that the new film will also include the late Carrie Fisher, who will reprise her role as Princess Leia Organa with the help of "previously unreleased footage shot for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'".

Abrams added: "You don't recast that part and you don't suddenly have her disappear". She also said that Abrams "cares more than anyone I know".

The action then briefly shows a ship approaching a wintry planet, then cuts to Kylo Ren cutting through someone and then repairing his helmet/mask.

"She's so alive in the scenes", Abrams said.

Disney's putting a hold on the Star Wars series for a bit starting in 2020. The "Star Wars" universe as we know it is about to change forever. The Star Wars family has denied this in the past, and in The Last Jedi, Kylo cruelly showed Rey that her parents were just regular people who abandoned her.
