Kings fire Joerger; extend Divac

Joerger finishes with a 98-148 record with the Kings over the past three seasons. Divac, the beloved former Kings players who was hired in March of 2015 and who built this young core that is widely considered one of the most promising in the National Basketball Association, was rewarded for this surprise season that will now be followed by one key question.

Kings general manager Vlade Divac will fire head coach Dave Joerger on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Shortly after that report, Divac released a statement concerning why the franchise relieved Joerger of his duties, via the Kings' official website.

The move comes on the same day that the team announced they had extended the contract of GM Vlade Divac.

Manchester City are in a real battle to retain their Premier League title, with Liverpool now two points ahead of the Sky Blues. To their credit, Brighton did not buckle and never allowed the Premier League champions to find their best form.

A separate ESPN report revealed there has been growing tension between Joerger and the front office, while The Athletic noted there has been a trust issue between Joerger and assistant general manager Brandon Williams for much of the season. Sacramento managed to lose a 28-point lead from the first half.
