Alvin Gentry: Anthony Davis 'Got Some Bad Advice'

Alvin Gentry: Anthony Davis 'Got Some Bad Advice'

"You know me to just tell the truth".

Davis said he was waiting to see who the Pelicans chose as general manager following the firing of Dell Demps in February. Davis remains under contract for another season, but the Pelicans may be inclined to deal him before the draft to maximize rebuilding options.

Sounds like a man who is ready to get out of New Orleans as soon as possible. He said he never considered how wearing it might be perceived, adding, "It doesn't matter to me".

"Seeing what happens. Seeing who the Pelicans make their GM and having a conversation with that person about the future".

"I didn't choose it", he said, per Fletcher Mackel of WDSU.

"Obviously my time here was wonderful". Always have a special place in my heart [for New Orleans].

Last night, he wore a T-shirt that read "That's All Folks" for the season finale against Golden State.

Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter are putting on a united front as they navigate their divorce . Well, that time has evidently come.

This, of course, means Davis is playing with fire. "It was hanging for me already when I put my clothes on, so". While he'd rather be traded, Davis knows there is a real possibility he'll have to stay.

A grinning Anthony Davis emerged from the Pelicans' weight room holding one of his white No. 23 game jerseys and tossed it over the shoulder of guard Jrue Holiday, mumbling, "so you won't forget about me", as he walked away.

"I saw some stuff", Davis said about the reaction to the shirt.

"I haven't really sat back and thought about any of that yet".

As he said earlier this season, Davis reiterated that he doesn't have any regrets about how everything played out with his request.

"(I haven't seen a situation) this toxic, no. "I think he's a very good kid".
