The iPad is reportedly getting its own dedicated WhatsApp app

The first new addition to WhatsApp for Android that we wanted to talk about is the new audio picker feature.

As an extension to this functionality, WhatsApp has commenced testing of another feature that lets group admins prevent users from sending frequently forwarded messages.

The functions in the iPad app should be largely the same as in the iPhone version of WhatsApp. Previously, "frequently forwarded" tag had started appearing for messages which were forwarded more than four times. On one side of the screen, users will see their chat conversations and the other half will consist of the detailed chat.

With elections around the corner and the amount of flack it has received for fake messages, WhatsApp has been upping efforts to clamp down on misinformation and fake news.

Other tools added to fight hoaxes and fake news the platform include forward limits, suspicious link detection, and improved admin controls.

The new feature comes as part of the 2.19.89 beta update of the instant messaging app.

WhatsApp could soon support Apple's iPad as well, according to a report on WABetaInfo. Here's all about WhatsApp features for the iPad users. Again, this means that the app is not available for iPad users on the App Store yet, but it should arrive soon.

The interface of WhatsApp for iPad has been tweaked to match the larger display of the device, just like Facebook Messenger. The company might roll out the support with the next beta updates.

WhatsApp recently turned ten and it looks like the messaging app has some surprises for us. Do you like that you can now pick more than one audio file to send at a time to friends and family? It shows areas such as chats, calls and settings in a split view. The app also works in landscape mode on the iPad.
