Protesters Interrupt Trump Speech to Republican Jewish Coalition

Trump, who typically demands short sharp briefings and is known for his colorful retelling of stories, said Friedman was shocked, "like a wonderful, attractive baby", and asked the President if he would actually do it. "I forgot. I'm so sorry".

Trump seemed to double down on referring to the crowd as Israelis, railing against what he cast as anti-Israel policies by Democrats.

Much of Trump's speech on Saturday was standard campaign-rally fare, with the president mocking asylum seekers, threatening to close the US border with Mexico, attacking the Green New Deal plan to combat climate change and boasting about his relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump criticized some 2020 Democrats who have suggesting they would re-enter the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, from which Trump withdrew the United States.

Ultimately, the group and many of its donors backed Trump. Late last month, Trump claimed that Democrats are an "anti-Israel" and "anti-Jewish" party, even though Jews have historically voted more Democratic than Republican.

"Look, it's not the Democratic Party that believes that there are good people on both sides of a Nazi rally", Schiff said.

German industrial production rises on construction gains
The rise in output exceeded expectations for a 0.5 percent increase on the month. In March 2019, German factory output grew amid a surge in construction.

That decision has particularly resonated with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has sought to ally himself with Trump ahead of his re-election on Tuesday. "The lack of character and values that are certainly inconsistent with Jewish values I think are only consolidating support in the Jewish community, and I think the president needs to look inward when it comes to the rise of anti-Semitism in the country and his own actions and his own words and how that may fuel some of the rise in hate that we see, not just in the form of anti-Semitism but the rise in acts of hate of all kinds".

A senior House Democrat responded Sunday to President Donald Trump's recent allegation that the ranks of the Democratic Party had become tainted by anti-Semitism by pointing to the president's previous, highly criticized remarks.

Stuart Weil, a Jewish man from Fresno, Calif., said Americans have traditionally been very supportive of Israel but "the progressive, liberal wing of the Democratic Party" is changing that. Trump was slow to condemn white supremacists who marched violently in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017.

When he addressed the RJC in 2015 he said he didn't expect to earn their support because he wouldn't take their money. "You want to control your politicians, that's fine", Trump said at the time.

Trump met privately with Adelson before speaking, according to an official. Trump said, imitating them. They followed that by contributing $100 million to the Republican Party for the 2018 midterm elections. Jewish voters identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party over the Republican Party by a roughly 2-1 ratio.
