Jones is an eight-time NBA All-Defensive First Team member and NBA champion.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2019 consists of Bill Fitch, Sidney Moncrief, Jack Sikma, Paul Westphal, Teresa Weatherspoon and Bobby Jones, among others who will be enshrined as part of weekend ceremonies September 5-7 in Springfield, Mass.

A formal announcement will come Saturday at the site of the NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis. He was an All-Star in seven consecutive seasons for Seattle, and in his second year after being taken in the first round of the 1977 NBA Draft by Seattle, he helped lead the franchise to its one and only NBA championship.

Westphal was inducted into the Suns' Ring of Honor in 1998 and is also a member of the USC Hall of Fame and Pac-12 Hall of Honor.

The 2019 Basketball Hall of Fame are introduced during the Basketball Hall of Fame press conference at U.S. Bank Stadium. They include Al Attles from the Contributor Committee, Charles "Chuck" Cooper from the Early African American Pioneers Committee, Vlade Divac from the International Committee, Carl Braun from the Veterans Committee and the Wayland Baptist Flying Queens of 1948-1982 from the newly instated Women's Veterans Committee.

Before his playing career ended, Attles became one of the first African Americans to coach an National Basketball Association team when he became the player-coach of the Warriors during the 1969-70 season. In addition to being a five-time All-Star, Moncrief was named to the NBA's All-Defensive first team four years (1983-86) and second team in 1982 while earning NBA Defensive Player of the Year honors two seasons (1982-83 and 1983-84). To be elected, North American and Women's Committee finalists must receive 18 of 24 votes from the Honors Committee for election into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. She is a five-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year. Webber is perhaps the most controversial, with five NBA All-Star selections and wildly impressive career statistics. He was a seventh-round pick of the Philadelphia Warriors in 1960 and played his first two seasons for the Warriors in Philadelphia before they moved to the San Francisco area.

Jones spent the final eight seasons of his career playing for the Philadelphia 76ers and made two more All-Star teams, while solidifying himself as one of the NBA's premier defenders.

He coached the team until 1983 and is the longest-serving coach in Warriors history.
