Giannis Antetokounmpo outduels Joel Embiid as Bucks clinch NBA’s top seed

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo may have locked up the MVP award with a stellar 45-point performance on Thursday, and the Bucks clinched the best record in the National Basketball Association with a road win over the Sixers despite losing guard Eric Bledsoe early in the first quarter.

Antetokounmpo is one of the most humble guys in the league, so this response is pretty standard.

What made the victory even more impressive for the Bucks was the fact that the team lost starting point guard Eric Bledsoe in the first three minutes of the game. If this holds, the two stars won't have the chance to face off in the playoffs until the Eastern Conference Finals.

"Especially with what he does defensively with the five blocks and 13 rebounds and changes the game. finishing and making free throws". He's also shooting an impressive 57.7 percent from the field, and he's now the front-runner to win the Most Valuable Player award.

"It was a great atmosphere, it felt like playoff game", Embiid said.

"I think the team did a great job keeping its composure", Antetokounmpo said.

Antetokounmpo scored 12 points in the first quarter as the Bucks took a 30-26 lead into the second.

Antetokounmpo reached 25 or more points and 10-plus rebounds in a game for the 42nd time this season. On the other end, Embiid did what he could against Giannis, the likely 2018-19 MVP, containing some of his rampages to the rim, forcing a jump ball and ceding open 3-pointers.

"He's been doing it all for us this whole season", Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton said.

"We struggled guarding them, didn't we?"

The West-leading Golden State improved to 54-24 on the season with just four regular season games left. Hopefully, we'll be smarter and better for it.

Bledsoe was promptly assessed two technical fouls and was ejected.
