‘Captain Marvel’ Powers Past $1 Billion at Global Box Office

‘Captain Marvel’ Powers Past $1 Billion at Global Box Office

If those early tracking estimates pan out, Endgame will join a pretty exclusive club - one now occupied by the film that sequentially came before it, Avengers: Infinity War, as part of the half-dozen titles to pass $200 million in ticket revenue during their opening weekend. Per Variety, initial estimates were for Infinity War to haul in somewhere between $180 million and $225 for its opening weekend. Currently, Infinity War holds the opening weekend box office record in the USA with about $257.7 million. It's probably safe to assume that with The Avengers: Endgame opening in China along with the rest of the world (72%), the opening box office worldwide weekend will be even higher.

In advance of Marvel's much anticipated release of Avengers: Endgame later this month, tickets for the film went on sale yesterday on the heels of a new special look trailer and three new IMAX posters to promote the movie. As such, it might seem like Endgame's story is a closely guarded secret, but Joe Russo hasn't had that particular memo, describing both Infinity War and Endgame's plots to Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson... outside a bathroom. In a recent interview with Total Film magazine via Gamesradar, Joe and Anthony Russo explained why the upcoming Marvel movie is going to be just over three-hours long.

Ancient Whale Fossils With Four Otter-Like Legs, Discovered In Peru
This led scientists to hypothesize that amphibious whales likely reached North America after leaving Africa's western shores. Palaeontologists discovered the four-metre-long whale , which had four legs, webbed feet, hooves and a powerful tail.

The longer runtime (Avengers: Infinity War ran two hours and 29 minutes) means there could be one fewer showtime at each theater than Infinity War. It's thought that due to strong ticket sales of The Avengers: Endgame, the record will be shattered by the follow up to Infinity War that sees the remaining Marvel heroes take on Thanos in an attempt to undo the Great Titans Snap that killed off half the universe.
