Saturday Night Live Lands Adam Sandler as First-Time Host

On Friday following the news, Twitter lit up - and folks are already speculating what other "characters" might show up with him.

Sandler was both a writer and a star of the long-running sketch show but was unceremoniously fired at the peak of his popularity in 1995.

"We are happy to welcome Adam back to ' SNL' in what is sure to be a special night", said executive producer Lorne Michaels. He joined the cast the following year, where his colorful characters and memorable musical numbers made him a household name by the time he left the show in 1995.

A huge hit was Lunch Lady Land, a track that he performed with Chris Farley, who, dressed like a cafeteria server from everyone's public school ever, absolutely killed it with audiences and is still a favorite today. "Yes, we were [fired]", Sandler said in a 2014 interview.

The new vehicle is in addition to the EcoSport small SUV now built in Craiova, plus Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. Apart from this, the SUV will also come with Ford's SYNC 3 system coupled with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto .

He is slated to reprise his role of voicing Dracula in Hotel Transylvania 4 and his most recent comedy special, 100% Fresh is now streaming on Netflix. I just don't know how good I'd be doing it. It's actually incredible, for all the Big Daddy's and Waterboy's, that Sandler has never leaned on a show that he's so synonymous with to promote his brand. "I'm slow now... I did what I could do on that show".

Adam Sandler is hosting "SNL" on May 4.

Sandler has nothing especially timely to plug with his SNL encore, unless one counts a Netflix special that came out five months ago, or a Netflix flick, Murder Mystery, that doesn't yet have a premiere date.
