Russell Westbrook posts 20/20/20 game for just second time in National Basketball Association history

This was also Westbrook's eighth career game with at least 15 points, 15 rebounds, and 15 assists, tying Chamberlain for the second-most such games in National Basketball Association history, according to Justin Kubatko of StatMuse.

Chamberlain did it in 1968, when he had 22 points, 25 rebounds and 21 assists in a game for the Philadelphia 76ers against Detroit.

Still, thanks to a 13-of-16 start in the paint and an 8-for-8 mark in transition, where the Thunder scored 16 points in the first quarter and 34 for the game, Head Coach Billy Donovan's club held a 59-55 halftime lead.

You can catch the postgame interview below.

The effect Hussle had on Westbrook was seen even before the game.

After the game, Westbrook dedicated his historic performance to rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was fatally shot outside his Los Angeles clothing store on Sunday. In the first quarter, Westbrook already racked up 10 assists and reached 17 assists by the third. Westbrook grabbed three defensive rebounds in the same amount of time and logged an assist seconds after each. "For a few guys on our team relationship-wise, it's kind of hit them pretty hard just in the last couple days. But I think for Russell, that was something that really meant a lot to him, and he basically talked to me a little bit about it after the game". Using a 20-9 burst that concluded with a Westbrook jump shot and then a Raymond Felton to Westbrook fast break layup, the Thunder ran its lead out to 15 points at 85-70.

"I tried to set the tone early".

"That wasn't for me. that's for my bro man".

DeMar DeRozan led the way with 29 points as the Spurs rallied from nine points down to claim a 117-111 victory.

"I thought we brought the energy level that it takes to win", Walton said.
