Raheem Sterling On Bonucci Response: All You Can Do Is Laugh

Leonardo Bonucci's suggestion that Juventus team-mate Moise Kean was partly to blame for the racist abuse he received from Cagliari fans is laughable, says Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.

Juventus forward Moise Kean scored his team's second goal against Cagliari late in the 2-0 victory Tuesday and stood in front of the home fans with his arms outstretched.

Before that Sterling, who is no stranger to abuse himself, posted on social media following the Juve centre-back's comments, stating that "all you can do now is laugh", pointing to a gross lack of understanding from the Italy global.

Italy defender Bonucci, 31, responded by writing: "Regardless of everything, in any case". The winger from Manchester City has experienced this in Monetengro when the twenty-four-year-old player had been in action for England in the time of the qualifier of 2020.

"Racist behaviour must be stigmatised so that it can be no more".

"There were racist jeers after the goal". I think the blame is 50-50.

"We are professionals. We have to set the example and not provoke anyone". The Italian FA are allowing fans to do so each year without taking necessary action.

"Kean's a golden lad", said Mancini.

This year she is double-nominated in three categories - Top Selling Song , Top Collaboration and Top Hot 100 Song . The Stones, Elton and U2, meanwhile, will square off against each other for the Top Rock Tour prize.

Kean then posted a a picture of himself celebrating with the caption: "The best way to respond to racism #notoracism" on Instagram.

Mino Raiola, the agent of both Kean and Matuidi, defended his clients and told AFP that there can be no justification for racism.

"We could be in a World Cup and see racism, you never know, and I would still hope whether we got punished or not, that we would make the right decision by pulling them off". "Racism is equal as ignorance".

'Good Italians wake up, you can't let a small racist group speak for you. "You can not be human and racist".

Other messages of support for Kean have poured in from fans and fellow players, including Paul Pogba, while another of Juve's centre-backs, Giorgio Chiellini, has disagreed entirely with his defensive partner's assessment of the situation.

Bonucci has since moved to clarify his comments about Kean in a statement on Instagram following Tuesday's match.

Hughton, one of the few Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) managers in English football, says he is not surprised by incidences of racism at games. "It was totally disrespectful", Toure said.
