Rachel Weisz to feature in Scarlett Johansson starrer 'Black Widow' movie?

Also unknown: If this movie will take place before or after the events of the upcoming "Avengers: Endgame".

Rachel Weisz and David Harbour are said to be circling the film, with ongoing talks moving in a positive direction, according to Variety.

Disney should hopefully let us know more at some point about what is next for the franchise, starting with the movie Black Widow, which focuses on the character played by Scarlett Johansson since Iron Man 2 in 2010. The duo is poised to join Scarlett Johansson and rising star Florence Pugh (Fighting with My Family) in the standalone film.

A Black Widow movie has truly been a long time coming for the MCU, and Natasha Romanoff is a really fascinating member of the Marvel world, both in film and comics form.

Marvel's long-awaited Black Widow movie gets more exciting with each new casting announcement and this is the best one yet.

The Black Widow-centered flick will not be the first superhero movie Harbour has been involved in. Plot details are being kept under wraps as the project heads towards a production start in June in London. The actor is, of course, best known for his Emmy-nominated role as Chief Jim Hopper on the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. For a brand which was initially built off smaller name stars (Robert Downey Jr aside), it would be interesting to see if big names make any difference to the already massive appeal of Marvel films.

For now, no release date has been announced for Black Widow, but you can catch Harbour in Hellboy when it comes out April 12.
