NY Man Accused Of Threatening To Kill Rep. Omar

On March 21, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Omar's staff received a call at her Washington, D.C. offices, according to the complaint. If convicted, he could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.

Carlineo phoned Omar's office March 21 and asked the person who answered if the staff member worked for the "Muslim Brotherhood", according to a statement by the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Western District of NY. Why are you working for her, she's an (expletive) terrorist.

After receiving the call, the threat was referred to the U.S. Capitol Police, who began an investigation with the FBI.

He said he was a patriot, he loves the President and that he hates radical Muslims in our government, the complaint said. However, after FBI agents reminded Carlineo that they had tapes of the phone call and that lying to the FBI is itself a federal crime, he backtracked and said he didn't remember what he said in the heat of the moment.

Jacinda Ardern has once again proven she is the ultimate woman, leader, mother and all-round good Samaritan . She also said that the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Winston Peters, made New Zealand's views very clear.

Carlineo's defense attorney declined to comment on the charges on Friday. She recently reignited the controversy, saying groups supportive of Israel were pushing members of Congress to have "allegiance to a foreign country", echoing the anti-Semitic trope of dual loyalty.

Omar has drawn controversy for several of her comments since coming to Congress.

Carlineo made an initial court appearance on Friday and is being held pending a detention hearing on April 10.

When shown an email with the quote from the call regarding calling Omar a "terrorist" and threatening to kill her, Carlineo first replied that is not what he had said, according to the affidavit.
