BTS, EXO & GOT7 nominated for Billboard Music Awards 2019

Drake and Post Malone tie for second-most nominations this year with 17 each, both nominated in numerous same categories, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist.

Cardi B has capped a successful awards season by leading nominations for the 2019 Billboard Music Awards - with the rest of the top spots commanded by other USA rap acts.

In the May 1 event in Las Vegas, she will take on Drake, Post Malone, Ariana Grande and Travis Scott for the biggest honour - top artist. This year she is double-nominated in three categories - Top Selling Song, Top Collaboration and Top Hot 100 Song.

Cardi B leads all contenders, with 21 nominations in 18 categories, just missing the record for most nominations set by Drake and The Chainsmokers, who each had 22 in 2017. At The Disco have been nominated for Billboard Music Awards.

But reactions from BTS fans dominated discussions of the Billboard Awards on social media.

The latter - who died in June 2018 - has received a total of 10 posthumous nominations, including Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Male Artist.

The Stones, Elton and U2, meanwhile, will square off against each other for the Top Rock Tour prize.
