Sony Will Stop Retailers Selling PS4 Download Codes From April

Sony Will Stop Retailers Selling PS4 Download Codes From April

The trailer was shown during the first episode of the State of Play series where we see Iron Man flying through the sky and using different powers to block incoming attacks and destroy enemies. For example, it's unclear whether third-party online stores such as those operated by Best Buy and GameStop will still be able to sell codes for digital versions of games. They also happen to be PS4 exclusives, so to commemorate the first episode more information - and hopefully release dates - could be revealed. The only exceptions to this policy shift are Mortal Kombat 11 and Days Gone (likely due to them releasing at the end of April). The company has not detailed what new denominations of currency will be available, or where.

"We're also very excited to reveal that we have officially sold-through more than 4.2 million PS VR systems worldwide as of March 3, 2019".

Sony has confirmed that it will cease selling game digital download codes through brick-and-mortar retailers. However, DLC packs, add-ons, season passes, and virtual currency will still be available to purchase. Sony claims that it made this decision to "continue to align key businesses globally", though it didn't elaborate on what it means by that. It's now unclear if Web-based retailers like Amazon will be affected by the decision. The game features a four-player multiplayer mode in which players race against other teams.

Sony will reportedly pull digital game codes from retail stores in April.

Retail availability of digital game codes was especially useful for players who didn't or couldn't use a credit card on the PlayStation Network storefront.
