Among the film's producers are Vivek's father Suresh Oberoi, Anand Pandit and Acharya Manish.

Lyricist Sameer Anjaan Saturday said he has been making incessant calls to the production team of the film PM Narendra Modi but is yet to get a concrete response on how his name appeared in the credits of the film when he did not play any role in it. The eminent 74-year-old poet and lyricist had on Friday expressed shock on social media over seeing his name alongside the movie's other lyricists, which includes censor board chairman Prasoon Joshi. "Have not written any songs for it", the lyricist wrote on Twitter. And now, producer of the movie Sandip Ssingh took to Twitter to clear the confusion. We have grown up listening to his songs.

We have used one of his old songs 'Ishwar Allah' from '1947: "Earth' and gave him credit", said Mr Ssingh, quoted by news agency PTI.

On March 15, the Goa unit of National Students' Union of India had also urged the Election Commission to ban the film's screening in theatres during the 48-hour silence period before a voting day, ANI reported. In a tweet posted in Hindi, Sameer wrote, "Mujhe hairat hai apana naam pm narendra Modi film me dekh karr, Maine aisi kisi film me koi gaana nahi likha hai".

Shabana Azmi has said that adding Javed Akhtar's name to the credit list of PM Narendra Modi was a deliberate move on part of the makers of PM Narendra Modi to "mislead public".

The trailer for 'PM Narendra Modi' was launched at a multiplex in Mumbai by the film's cast and crew.

The film, which also features Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Zarina Wahab and Prashant Narayanan, releases on April 5.
