Pakistan needs to decide if it wants to be viewed as a responsible worldwide player and have access to all the financial mechanisms that are available or is it going to continue to fail to take the steps necessary against these terrorist groups and see itself further isolated.

According to official sources in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi sent a letter to Khan, greeting people of Pakistan on the eve of its National Day and highlighting the importance of a terror-free South Asia. Kumar also said that Pakistan slamming India's acquittal of four people accused of plotting and bombing the Samjautha Express in 2007 was an attempt by Islamabad to deflect attention from the pressure it faced from the global community following the 14 February Pulwama terror attack in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed.

"Our desire for peace shouldn't be construed as our weakness". "It is time that ppl of Sub-continent work together for a democratic, peaceful, progressive & prosperous region, in an atmosphere free of terror and violence", Khan said.

Saturday's military parade included an air show featuring the Pakistani-built JF-17 fighter jet.
