Big cow tests animal store Petco's 'all leashed pets are welcome' policy

"We're so glad that our guests and store partners got to experience this fun and happy moment with Oliver, the African Watusi, because that's what Petco is all about".

Vincent Browning visited the popular pet store with a giant African Watusi - on a leash, of course.

The two men brought their leashed steer to a Houston-area Petco.

Petco has since responded to the event saying on Facebook, "We mean it when we say ALL leashed pets are welcome in our stores". "They welcomed Oliver the African Watusi with open arms".

"We made a decision to take a chance and call Petco's bluff on the "All leashed pets are welcome" policy; the awesome crew at Petco - Atascocita did not disappoint!"

Video showed the steer being led into the store, before employees greeted the animal and Browning and posed for photos.

Their unusually large horns have the largest circumference found in any cattle breed.

The Facebook post reads, "We chose to take a chance and call Petco's bluff on the "ALL LEASHED PETS ARE WELCOME" policy".

The staff members were reportedly "super friendly and courteous".

The post has since earned more than 400,000 views.
