Noah Centineo May Play He-Man in Masters of the Universe Reboot Film

The To All the Boys I've Loved Before heartthrob is in talks to play the legendary He-Man in the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie, EW has learned.

Brothers Adam and Aaron Nee are slated to direct, with Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man) writing the script.

The movie is based on Mattel's now-iconic toy line, which spawned the 1983 animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

The news of Centineo's new project comes on the heels of the announcement that he is now in production for the follow up to Netflix's 2018 hit, To All the Boys I've Loved Before.

Hastings said that Netflix would perform best when competing with "amazing, large, well-funded companies" such as those now entering the video space.

The storyworld revolved around the planet of Eternia, where Prince Adam is the heir to the throne, flanked by pals Man-at-Arms, Teela, The Sorceress, Orko and his cowardly pet tiger Cringer. As He-Man he defends the kingdom from Skeletor an evil wizard that is looking to take over Castle Grayskull whihc is the source of He-Man's powers.

"Masters of the Universe" was previously adapted as a live-action film in 1987, with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor, and featuring Courtney Cox in one of her first film roles. The Wrap suggests that Centineo's performance in Charlie's Angels is the reason Sony wants him to be He-Man. The subsequent He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon series made its titular hero into an '80s icon.

Should Centineo actually hop aboard Masters of the Universe, he'll have some pretty big shoes to fill and a long legacy to live up to.

Sony has attempted to get a new Masters of the Universe movie into production for several years. Goyer was briefly rumored to be directing the film, as was Jeff Wadlow. Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
