"But he (Ibrahimovic) obviously knows more about the club than us", Giggs sarcastically added.

Giggs, 45, and his former Class of 92 teammates Neville, Scholes, Butt, David Beckham and Phil Neville, played a combined total of 3,450 games during the most successful period in United's history.

Jose Mourinho says he has turned down "three or four offers" since his departure from Manchester United in December but expects to take up a new position soon.

The 37-year-old claimed Mourinho and United midfielder Paul Pogba were among those hindered by a desire to hark back to the glory days under Alex Ferguson, who stepped down after winning a 13th league title in 2012-13.

Ibrahimovic is close to Paul Pogba and insists the Frenchman was also unfairly analysed by former Old Trafford names, explaining: "With Pogba, he was with United when he was young, then he went out and he came back".

"Things happening outside do not really bother him because when you are at that level, everyone will speak - positive, negative, in between".

Ibrahimovic, who played for the Red Devils for two seasons, made the comments during an interview with the Mirror and no sooner had the words been printed than Giggs was asked for a response at a press conference ahead of Wales' friendly against Trinidad and Tobago. That's what football is about, having different opinions.

Pep Guardiola's team have already won the League Cup and are still in the hunt for Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup glory.

"I've got enough to worry about, please don't bring that up".

"I think that for seven or eight years they hadn't reached the quarter-finals", he said to beIN Sports.

"They're a fantastic team, aren't they?"

"I know what I want, not in terms of a specific club, but the nature of the work and the size of the club, and that's what I'm waiting for". That bit of luck, which they had at the weekend.
