Everton vs. Chelsea - Football Match Report

Despite a recovery in recent weeks, yesterday's 2-0 defeat to Everton leaves them behind both United and Arsenal in the race for the final Champions League spot.

If they play like they did yesterday, crumbling at the first sign of trouble, we'll be out of the competition, and Sarri out of a job, before you know it.

Everton went 2-0 up in the 72nd minute when Sigurdsson put the ball past Arrizabalaga from the rebound after his penalty kick was saved by the Chelsea goalkeeper following a foul in the box on Richarlison by Marcos Alonso.

"What we did in the second half was everything we planned during the week".

As the set continued to play out, the duo started to look worn out from the sheer physical battle they were enduring. She broke Kerber three times in the third set, rallying from a 3-2 deficit to take four of the final five games.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich could reportedly sack manager Maurizio Sarri during the worldwide break following the team's 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

Toffees keeper Jordan Pickford was called into fielding a few shots in the closing stages, but in the end the hosts saw the match out pretty comfortably to relieve some of the pressure from the shoulders of Marco Silva. "I'm very proud of the players because of what they did in the second half".

Coach Maurizio Sarri was at a loss to explain his side's collapse.

"And they did. They showed great attitude, character and personality second half but we have to do it from the first minute". It's odd and we stopped to defend and counter-attack. "We have to play eight matches now and we have to fight for our possibilities".
