Neymar risks Euro ban after foul-mouthed ref rant

Neymar risks Euro ban after foul-mouthed ref rant

Injured Neymar could only watch on from the stands and later the touchline as his teammates threw away a two-goal, first-leg lead following two Romelu Lukaku goals and a Marcus Rashford spot kick, awarded for a Presnel Kimpembe handball after a VAR review.

"It's a disgrace", Neymar had said in his Instagram post in Portuguese.

Paris Saint-Germain's humiliating exit from the Champions League could be further compounded after the tournament organisers, Uefa, confirmed on Wednesday that they might punish the PSG striker Neymar for a rant on social media about referees.

Neymar was reportedly restrained by club staff as he confronted referee Damir Skomina after the game in a furious tunnel bust-up.

UEFA Investigating Neymar's Social Media Post After PSG's Collapse Vs Man United.

"They put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR". How can it be a handball when it hits...

"A disciplinary investigation has been initiated based on Article 31 (3) of the Uefa Disciplinary Regulations in connection with statements made by PSG player Neymar", Uefa said.

It is unknown what punishment would be considered for Neymar should he be found to have broken UEFA rules, but any enforced absence may not overly trouble the Parisian outfit, who now lead Ligue 1 by 17 points with 11 games to play in the 2018/19 domestic season.
