Life ban on cricketer Sreesanth set aside by Supreme Court

It's six years and I haven't played cricket, which was my life.I hope that the BCCI respects the verdict of the country's highest court and allows me to at least get back to the cricket field.

The bench passed this order on Sreesanth's plea challenging the decision of a division bench of the Kerala High Court which had restored the life ban imposed on him by the BCCI.

Sreesanth was banned from all forms of cricket by the BCCI.

The Supreme Court on Friday cancelled life ban on India cricketer S. Sreesanth and asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reconsider his punishment.

On March 6, a notification was issued stating that PUBG Mobile and the MOMO Challenge were banned , the report added. The ban was reportedly issued due to concerns about the game's impact on players' "behavior, conduct, and language".

The Supreme Court further said that its order should have no effect on criminal proceedings pending against S Sreesanth.

They all took to their social media handles and wrote heartfelt messages for Sreesanth. I have been keeping myself fit and practising regularly.

Sreesanth, along with then Rajasthan Royals teammates Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, were banned by the cricket board over spot-fixing, and Royals were debarred for two years from the IPL. I now really hope that BCCI too will do justice to him. On September 13, 2013, BCCI was found Sreesanth guilty on all the three counts - corruption, betting and bringing disrepute to the game - and imposed the lifetime ban on him.

Although in July 2015, the Patiala House Court dropped the charges against the 36 accused in the scandal, the BCCI refused to reverse its disciplinary order against Sreesanth based on evidence. The Delhi Police had subsequently challenged the decision in Delhi High Court.
