Cleveland Browns Released Linebacker Jamie Collins

The Browns parted ways with linebacker Jamie Collins on Wednesday, capping his two-and-a-half season run in Cleveland with a thud. He was drafted in 2013 by the New England Patriots in the 2nd round. "These types of decisions are never easy".

The contract contained $26.4 million in guaranteed money, but nearly all of that was paid out during the first two years so the Browns will carry only $2.5 million in dead money on their books in 2019 rather than Collins' $11.75 million cap hit.

Over the past couple of days, Browns twitter has been on fire with several players and reporters hinting that Cleveland has a big move in the works.

The team acquired Collins in a trade with the New England Patriots on Halloween in 2016 for a third-round pick.

Collins is 28 and will presumably get another shot.

After protests, Kremlin insists it's not moving to restrict internet
The protests in Moscow , the southern city of Voronezh, and Khabarovsk in the far east had all been officially authorised. A data released by non-government organization White Counter, the protesters numbered to around 15,300 people.

Collins' release was hinted at during the NFL Scouting Combine when Dorsey acknowledged that the linebacker's play didn't align with his high salary. Previous year he started all 16 games and had 104 tackles and four sacks. Cleveland then signed him to a four-year, $50 million contract before he hit free agency in 2017.

At the time of his signing, Collins represented another new start for the Browns, who have only made the playoffs once since their expansion reboot in 1999.

Collins' departure is not unexpected. The Browns want to improve their front seven on defence and are focused on adding depth on the line and at linebacker.

Dorsey could also try to improve his defence via trade.
