Thunder’s George fined for public criticism of officiating

LOS ANGELES -Paul George has been fined $25,000 for public criticism of officiating after the Thunder's 118-110 loss to the Clippers Friday, the National Basketball Association announced Saturday.

"It's just bad officiating", George told the press.

"We got to know that". It is what it is. Somebody has got to look into this. It's getting out of hand. And there's nobody that gets more contact. It's a piece of s-- being on that floor. It's just insane, I don't understand it.

"There are four seconds to go they call time out we play great Defence, if we foul out by half court we got them in a really hard situation, we don't need to do that".

"It's just bad officiating", George said after the game.

The Clippers took 46 free-throw attempts in the game, with slashing guard Lou Williams and Danilo Gallinari each going to the foul line 15 times.

George fouled out with 3:49 to play, Westbrook had to leave with 54.2 seconds remaining and Adams took a seat with 9.2 seconds remaining. He'd had a good night and his team had gutted out a good win and he'd worn out a path to the free-throw line, and when it was over he opted not to open up on the officials.

Nick Foles, Jaguars Agree To $88M Deal: Blake Bortles To Be Released
He owned a record of 6-2 as a starter during his second stint in Philadelphia, including a 4-1 mark in postseason play. But the Jacksonville Jaguars are apparently willing to think that Foles can be PLAYOFF FOLES for an entire season.

Even OKC coach Billy Donovan seemed to agree with Paul's statement.

"We are fouling too much away from the ball, when we don't have to".

Thunder: Five players had four or more fouls.

With Westbrook and George on the bench, the Thunder got within one early in the fourth on a three-point play by Abdel Nader.

George came off the bench to hit a go-ahead 3-pointer that gave the Thunder a 99-98 lead, their first since scoring the game's first basket. We expect the officiating to be professional as well. "You're just playing to get fouled to see what happens".

George's officiating criticisms are likely to generate a fine from the league, though he says he's already prepared to eat the cost if it leads to change.
