Starbucks collaborates with Ariana Grande on launch of Cloud Macchiato

Starbucks' newest beverage might just have have you on cloud nine. Grande has said she is a vegan, so a few people got after her for that. Grande has been known to be a fan of clouds and frequently uses the cloud emoji in her Twitter and Instagram posts. The "Thank You, Next' hit singer loves clouds and teamed up with Starbucks to release the drink that is now available in two flavours - cinnamon and caramel".

Grande and Starbucks tweeted identical tweets Monday featuring cloud and coffee emojis, which sparked excitement from fans via social media. She also released a perfume in February called Cloud.

Made with fluffy foam, espresso and caramel, the drink is joining Starbucks' permanent lineup.

"The original Spanish beverage combines cinnamon and lemon zest with a frothy texture, which inspired us to reinvent the beverage as a macchiato", said Erin Marinan, who works on Starbucks research and development team, in a statement. The new drink is a take on the classic macchiato with cold foam which the chain says is "an airy microfoam frothed cold and blended until smooth, creating layers of creamy texture and flavor, without the cream".

The addition of the metal straw shows how Starbucks thought about everything with the collaboration, including showing followers its commitment to rid its stores of plastic straws to help the environment.

Along with the new and returning beverages, Starbucks is also adding a cake pop to its food menu, which is coated in white chocolate and covered in a sweet-and-sour topping.
