How To Enable Dark Mode for Messenger on Android and iOS

It will provide you with the shortcut to setting and there, you can toggle on the dark mode. Now you can use a little trick to access dark mode in the Android version of Messenger for yourself.

Despite existing as an added feature, "Dark Mode" is actually an attempt from the social media giant to pare down its messaging suite.

How to enable dark mode in the latest version of Facebook Messenger on iOS?

Reddit user FusionxGamerz spotted the hidden method of enabling what I like to refer to as "Emo Mode", sharing it with users on the forum. For instance, it didn't work for me when I tried it yesterday, but it worked this morning.

Open any chat and send the user moon emoji from the Facebook emoji list ( this one, specifically).

Here's Why You Don't Park Next To A Fire Hydrant
The Anaheim Fire & Rescue Department had responded to a residential fire when they found a vehicle parked too close to a hydrant. Firefighters in California are reminding drivers not to park in front of fire hydrants. "Please do not park in fire lanes".

Once the emoji has been sent, users should see a shower of crescent moon emojis parade down the interface -similar to the balloon and confetti eruption that appears when leaving a "congrats" comment on a friend's status update. The app does notify that the dark mode is still in work and is inconsistent around the app.

Tap "Try It in settings" and it should bring you to your Messenger profile.

If it did work - congrats! Personally, I'm not a fan because I get headaches from reverse type in general, but if you're interested in trying out this new feature, I've put the instructions below.

Once you do that, you'll get a message indicating that you've unlocked the feature, and you can enable dark mode by tapping Turn On In Settings.
