Python found in woman’s shoe after flight

Python found in woman’s shoe after flight

"She actually thought that [her daughter Sarah] and [son-in-law Paul Airlie] had put a fake snake in her shoe to wind her up, so at first she thought it was a joke until she touched it and it moved", Airlie said to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

A woman who had returned to Scotland after vacationing in Australia didn't know she had hauled home a serpentine stowaway, until she reached into her suitcase to unpack and encountered a snake coiled within a shoe, according to her family.

It is thought the snake may be may be given to a zoo after it passes quarantine.

Mr Airlie said his wife Sarah had helped Ms Boxall pack.

"She called us here in Australia and we phoned the Scottish RSPCA and told them that there was a snake in the house", Airlie said.

"Somehow or other, it got from Mackay to Glasgow without being detected", Mr Airlie told ABC. The suspicion among Boxall's family is that the shoe was packed in her luggage with the snake already making itself a home inside of it.

May to offer MPs no-deal Brexit vote
Reuters reported on Monday that May's government was looking at different options, including a possible delay. According to reports, a group of 23 met at Commons to discuss how to stop Brexit happening without a deal.

Further examination of the Australian creature by Scottish SPCA revealed the native to be a simple spotted python: non-venomous and commonly domesticated Down Under.

The snake that traveled across the world was surely an unexpected shock, but it certainly pales in comparison to some of the creatures passengers have tried to pass off as normal stowaway luggage, like the man who tried to hide 20 snakes in his luggage on a flight from Germany to Russian Federation.

The snake turned out to be a python, which is not unsafe.

Mr Airlie said he was unsure if his mother-in-law would return to Australia anytime soon after the frightening experience. A friend had to unpack the rest of her bag for her because she was anxious there might be another snake in her luggage.

"She said she's not so keen to come back and visit, but I suspect she will - she'll have to think about it at first".
