When asked whether she regretted getting into politics because of the attention and criticism she gets online, Ocasio-Cortez said it only validated her choices.

Desus noted that after the show tweeted its Ocasio-Cortez promo, they received backlash from the same "Twitter trolls and the Russian bots" that harass the congresswoman. "Because if you're just flying under the radar, just trying to get your check, like not rock the boat-then what's the point of being in politics?"

Ocasio-Cortez continued her grassroots campaign to a November victory more than three months ago and has quickly become one of the most recognizable faces and voices in Washington, D.C.
