Quincy Jones Says He Loves Jussie Smollett But

The head of the Chicago Police Department once again criticized Jussie Smollett in a Monday interview, after the actor was charged with a felony for allegedly filing a false police report claiming he was the victim of a violent racist and homophobic attack.

Howard had always been suspicious about the 36-year-old's claim that he was the victim of a racist, homophobic attack in Chicago last month - and periodically confronted him about inconsistencies in his story as the investigation unfolded, TMZ reports. The brothers were arrested in connection with the alleged attack on "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett but were released after reportedly telling detectives Smollett paid them to stage the attack. According to TMZ, Howard was so infuriated that he refused to come onto the set to shoot scenes and remained in his trailer for the balance of the day.

Mr Johnson added: "I just want people to understand, that's a damaging thing to do to a city and to a police department".

"T$3 here's a lot more evidence that hasn't been presented yet and does not support the version he gave", Johnson told ABC's Robin Roberts.

Police said that was the brothers' fee for staging the attack on January 29. "You can't get away from it", Jones said.

'There is still a lot of physical evidence, video evidence and testimony that simply does not support his version.

Trump bags 2 ‘worst actor’ Razzies for playing himself
On the same weekend Melissa McCarthy won a Razzie for worst actress , she could win an Oscar for best actress. US President Donald Trump was a big Razzie victor - enough so that he might nearly be exhausted of winning.

At the briefing, Chicago Police Commander Edward Wodnicki indicated some of the additional evidence in the case.

But in an interview on "Good Morning America that aired Monday morning, Johnson stuck by police claims that the money was for the brothers' help in orchestrating the attack early in the morning on January 29".

'He still has the presumption of evidence and he'll get his opportunity in court if he chooses to go that route, ' Johnson said, rejecting Smollett's lawyers claim that he has been unfairly vilified by the police department and prosecutor's office.

TMZ reported that Howard screamed at Smollett, 36, in a way to urge the actor, who plays Jamal Lyon, to come clean. "You know, this is one particular incident and it has to stand on its own merits".

At a press conference last week, Johnson told reporters of the Smollett case: "To be quite honest, it's shameful".
