Winter Weather Advisory Issued Until Monday Morning

The winter storm takes aim on KAKEland Tuesday with very light snow possible during the morning hours across Western Kansas.

The evening commute could be slick if the dry air begins to diminish early, so be sure to check conditions before heading out and allow extra travel time.

Quiet weather was the rule across the region for most of Monday. "An ice storm is also possible across interior portions of southern New England Wednesday night into Thursday". Plain rain will start to win out late Wednesday evening as temperatures rise above freezing.

Some models show it bringing trace amounts to Tacoma, Seattle and Olympia, while others show it being a mixture of rain and snow.

THURSDAY: Rain/freezing rain end early. That includes the West Point area. Snow could be heavy at times in the afternoon and we should expect the bulk of the accumulating snow to fall through the afternoon hours on Wednesday. The tricky part of this system will be all about the transition from snow, to sleet, to rain.
