Raptors' Fred VanVleet to miss at least 3 weeks with thumb injury

Toronto Raptors fans know just how lethal Jeremy Lin can be. Lin posted Monday on Instagram.

Lin and the Hawks worked out a buyout agreement. The Raptors would be the eighth National Basketball Association team Lin has played for in his career, which includes stops with the Warriors, Knicks, Rockets, Lakers, Hornets, Nets, and Hawks.

Lin's salary - $13.8 million for the 2018-19 season - makes it impossible for a team to claim him off waivers.

Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet is sidelined with a partial ligament injury to his left thumb, the team announced Monday. "What I always said about Jeremy, he's a heckuva competitor". Everyone competes in this league, but I think there is a pocket of guys that go above and beyond that.

Mauricio Pochettino: 'Tottenham Hotspur deserved victory over Leicester City'
We'll have team news for you very shortly. "I am so happy with my players". "We had all the opportunities to win the game". With Leicester 1-0 down, James Maddison earned the visitors a penalty at Wembley after he was fouled by Jan Vertonghen .

Toronto will become Lin's eighth National Basketball Association franchise, after stints with Golden State, New York, Houston, the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte, Brooklyn and this season Atlanta. Although both Wright and Lin have been 33.3 percent three-point shooters, Lin had a major advantage in two-point field goal percentage (.535 to.485) and assist rate (27.1 percent to 16.9 percent).

Lin, 30, is averaging 10.7 points and 5.3 assists in just 19.7 minutes per game for the Hawks in his return to action after a season-ending injury past year.

Toronto is now well positioned to win the Eastern Conference - one game behind Milwaukee.
