Thomas Markle has released a private, handwritten letter from his daughter in which she implored: "Please stop creating so much pain".

He said on the television show Good Morning America: "While the goal of Meghan's letter was very much to fix the relationship with her father, she knew in her heart of hearts that this was going to be released to the papers".

She also accused her father of not reaching out to her after the wedding, and not letting her know that he wasn't attending. In the letter - the duchess says, "If you love me. please stop lying. please stop exploiting my relationship with my husband".

The 74-year-old showed the letter to the Mail on Sunday after he was left feeling "vilified" from the interview in People magazine. He also responded to the letter with his own note.

"Samantha has every right to celebrate the birth of her niece or nephew in spring and will talk about her connection to Meghan, as they are family", a source told The Mirror.

"Nobody lied about her, she lied about everyone and there's plenty of proof out there in the world has seen her ghost everyone, this little letter does not fix what the world witnessed".
