Frank Lampard Addresses Rumours He Could Replace Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea Manager

The Guardian reports that the Italian's future will be decided by the upcoming fixtures in the month of February; a Europa League clash against Malmo, the Carabao Cup finals against Manchester City, an FA Cup clash against Manchester United and a league match up with Tottenham.

"My job is here", Lampard told a Derby press conference on Monday, quoted by the Evening Standard.

Aguero scored his second hat-trick in as many weeks as City thrashed Chelsea 6-0 on Sunday, with Raheem Sterling (No 2) netting twice and Aymeric Laporte (No 3) benefiting from breaking the deadlock at Everton in midweek.

Sarri's lack of a pre-season is cited as one of the reasons behind the ongoing support from Marina Granovskaia, who played a key part in bringing the 60-year-old to Chelsea in the summer.

Lampard, Chelsea's all-time leading scorer with 211 goals, said he was focused on doing his best for Derby and backed Chelsea to bounce back quickly from the defeat, which pushed them down to sixth in the table.

"It's not nice and it doesn't happen to Chelsea much, so when it does it's a shock", he added.

"I hope to see Chelsea put some form together and turn their results around". "But let's not forget they were up against a great Manchester City team - and I also had some good times there as a player".

"With all top teams, the important thing is that you come back strong, no matter what type of defeat".

Former Chelsea coach Paul Clement has insisted Maurizio Sarri will not walk away from the club, but believes there is something wrong behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
