Mixed bag of weather results in special weather statement for region

In a Hazardous Weather Statement reissued on Sunday morning for Tuesday for southeast NY, southern CT and northeast New Jersey, saying, "A wintry mix of precipitation, which may begin as early as late Monday night, is expected Tuesday and Tuesday night".

Snow will taper off to flurries on Wednesday. Some showers also develop Sunday, but our next best chance of rain comes between Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Afternoon highs will reach the low 40s for everyone. Lows in the upper 20s.

The chance for snow overnight starts after 1 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11 with little or no accumulation expected. Conditions deteriorate even further by late Monday night as eventually the upper levels of the atmosphere begin to warm trying to transition this system into rain. Our southernmost counties will likely see a rain/snow mix for most of the day Monday without drying up - this is mainly south of I-83.
