Ferdinand appears to suggest that the former Molde man has already proven himself and that if he secures a top four spot for the club then he should be given the job permanently.

Manchester United's board have already made a decision to name Ole Gunnar Solskjaer their new permanent manager, according to reports.

Fred was left out of the United squad entirely as the Red Devils strolled to victory over Fulham on Saturday afternoon, but Solskjaer claimed that he will still have a chance to impress before the end of the season.

The Norwegian, who initially replaced Jose Mourinho on a caretaker basis, has enjoyed a phenomenal start to life at Old Trafford, winning 10 of his 11 matches as United have risen up to fourth place in the Premier League table.

"We're on a great run but I think the players are feeling the same".

United went 1-0 up in the 14th minute thanks to a wonderful through ball from Anthony Martial to Paul Pogba - who blasted it into the near post first time.

Just brilliant. For a guy who looked to be on his way out of the club under Jose Mourinho, he is one of the many who have been revitalized under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

When deputies were able to rouse him from his sleep, he left the vehicle but did not put it in park. He was awoken by deputies but then tried to get out the vehicle while the auto was in drive.

"We know there's a very, very good player there with Fred so hopefully he'll adjust to the English game because there's no doubt there's talent, absolutely no doubt".

And Jones says it could be a big turning point in their season.

We would signpost some of the very best moments but Pogba barely put a foot wrong beyond the first 30 minutes.

United will host Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie. "You know he's going to be able to contribute and he will contribute, don't worry about that".

Herrera - perhaps more than any other Red - has helped Pogba flourish by offering him a defensive shield, as well as forming part of a strong midfield block which has created stability in front of a defence which has creaked at times this season.

He has covered the most ground of any player in his last two Premier League appearances (Sky Sports) and he is more than willing to do his fair share of dirty work - and some of Pogba's too.
