PSG 1-0 Bordeaux: Edinson Cavani injured days before Manchester United game

The sight of the injury worries me.

"No, I don't have good news for you", Tuchel told Canal +.

Neymar is ruled out with a broken metatarsal and it looks as though PSG will be without their first choice striker Edinson Cavani too, after he was subbed off at half-time during Saturday's game against Bordeaux.

As such, the injuries to the PSG duo should give them a handy advantage when they host Thomas Tuchel's men in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday night.

Cavani was one of the few PSG stars to start the Ligue 1 clash at the Parc des Princes and he scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after Thomas Meunier had been fouled by Nicolas de Preville. He will hopefully play 45 minutes, but we have to decide. But they will still feel the absence of Neymar and Cavani - if the latter can't play.

Edinson Cavani is a major doubt for Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League clash with Manchester United after picking up an injury against Bordeaux. "But we have to wait for the doctor's opinion to see if it's possible or not". We have to analyse Manchester United, we have to stay calm and confident.

"Obviously, we are very happy Marco is back with us", Tuchel added.

In many ways, this and the return game could be the audition for the Norwegian boss for the job of the next permanent manager.

Asked if today's win was ideal preparation for facing PSG, he said: "Yes, I would have to say so because it's a tough place to come".

"Informed of this recommendation, Paris Saint-Germain's Brazilian worldwide striker agreed with this protocol".
