XFL To Make Announcements This Coming Thursday In Dallas

The relaunch season for the XFL kicks off in 2020 on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, the weekend following the NFL's Super Bowl.

Former OU football coach Bob Stoops was introduced Thursday in Arlington, Texas, as the first head coach and general manager of the Dallas franchise in the revived XFL. "If it wasn't, I wouldn't do it", Stoops told KWTV. "But through our discussions as a family, started to think this would fit us correctly".

"I was also excited about starting something from the ground floor", Stoops said. But I respect the guys running things.

Stoops is a good friend of Jim Ross" which isn't that big of a surprise considering how big of a Boomer Sooner fan Good "ole JR is.

The 24-year-old Saracens lock then suffered medial ligament damage during England's 32-20 win over Ireland in Dublin on Saturday. Joe Schmidt, Ireland head coach: "I don't think for a moment that it's going to be boring".

In addition to Dallas, the XFL will have teams based in Houston, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Seattle, New York and Washington D.C. That's exciting to me.

The 58-year-old Stoops was vague about the reasons when he abruptly retired less than two years ago.

He led the Sooners to 10 conference championships and a national title in his 18 seasons in Norman.

Stoops, who received the Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award in 2000 and 2003, has an overall coaching record of 190 wins and 48 losses. Wrestling entrepreneur Vince McMahon is backing the venture again.
