He's like 'Oh my name is Drew, ' " Maddie, who is identified in news reports by her first name only, told local outlet Fox8. Put my hand on the knob and I'm like 'who's in here.' And somebody answers me.

Maddie told CBS News affiliate WFMY2 she asked the man whether he was going to do anything to her, to which he replied "No, no, no". "Can I hug you?' But he never touched me", Maddie said.

Maddie called her boyfriend and as she calmly waited for help as she talked with Swofford to keep him distracted.

"We always joke that there's a ghost in here because I've been missing clothes since I've been living here, like shirts - like a shirt at a time or trousers at this time - it makes me think he's been here before", she told WFMY.

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro student at first thought there might be an animal inside the space, but she made a decision to leave nothing to chance.

'She apparently came home around her lunch break, heard a noise in her closet and found him in there, ' Greensboro Police spokesman Glenn said.

With the temperature hovering steady around 4 C, it'll be warm for the season, and the fog should mostly dissipate by noon. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become hard to navigate due to accumulating snow.

The woman, who attends the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, said she and her roommates initially thought a ghost had taken up residence in their apartment after she noticed her clothes disappearing from her closet and handprints on the bathroom wall, according to WTVD. And the girls reveal that this is not the first time unusual men have entered their apartment without them knowing.

Needless to say, the young women said they don't feel safe in the apartment and are moving out.

Turned out, the sounds she and her roommate thought came from a ghost was actually a man named Andrew Swofford 30. "We always joke that there's a ghost in here because I've been missing clothes since I've been living here, like shirts-like a shirt at a time or trousers at this time-it makes me think he's been here before", she told WFMY2.

'I can't stay here.

Drew, who had already faced 14 felony charges including larceny and identity theft, is now in jail on $26,000 bond. My closet, it stinks.

Police charged Andrew Clyde Swofford, 30, of Greensboro with misdemeanor breaking and entering.

He is now in Guilford County Jail on $26,000 bond. Every time I go in (my room) there's a bad vibe. "That's why I'm ready to just, just leave".
