Steuben County Participating in NY States STOP-DWI Super Bowl Weekend Crackdown

Super Bowl Sunday is historically a day when friends and family gather.

The State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort Team, otherwise known as the SPIDRE team, will also be assisting in this effort this weekend.

DeKalb County Sheriff Office Chief Deputy Andy Sullivan said the sheriff's office will not be participating with the state police for Super Bowl weekend enforcement.

Michigan State Police are reminding motorists and football fans to make good choices behind the wheel this weekend. During the 24-hour reporting period, there were three fatalities and 276 injuries resulting from traffic crashes.

"The patrol is committed to removing impaired drivers from our roadways", said Colonel Paul A. Pride, patrol superintendent.

Apple apologises for FaceTime security flaw
Apple previously said that a software update fixing the issue will be released this week, but has now delayed to the coming week. The FaceTime bug in question allows users to hear through the receiver's phone without them actually accepting the call.

During last year's Super Bowl, the Patrol made 43 OVI arrests from 6 a.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Operation one of the nation's longest-running traffic safety initiatives.

According to the Maryland Department of Transportation, the state recorded 6,627 crashes that involved impaired drivers in 2017. "If you are going to be drinking, have a game plan to get home safely. Don't drive impaired. Together, we can save lives and prevent serious injuries".

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said to make sure no one under the age of 21 years old should consume alcohol and to make sure their guest have a sober way home.
