Nigeria vice president, flight crew safe after plane crash lands

Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbajo escaped death Saturday as his helicopter crash-landed in Kogi state, his spokesperson, Laolu Akande, said.

Akande said the vice-president continued on his campaign trip after the incident.

Osinbajo and the entire crew are safe.

Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar said he is happy that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo survived helicopter crash.

"We are marching on for indeed we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us!". According to an eyewitness, the vice president's helicopter crash landed when it was about to land in the township stadium.

"We are extremely grateful to the Lord for preserving our lives from the incident that just happened".

"We are safe and sound".

Concise News understands that the chopper was conveying Osinbajo to a campaign rally in Kogi State.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, as the vice president and his aides were pulled out of the helicopter safely.

The near mishap occurred after Osinbajo had attended the graduation ceremony of senior division course 1/2018 participants at the customs college.
