Google+ pages will shut down on April 2

The consumer version of the 7-year-old social media platform bids its final farewell on April 2, 2019.

Google is not wasting any time when it comes to shutting down the consumer version of Google+ with the company having now confirmed the final end date is April 2, 2019. However, Mountain View will wait until the shutdown day itself to close all consumer accounts and pages, as well as to delete all Google+ comments users made over the past years. If you have Google+ content that you would like to save, you must do so before April 2nd.

February 4: Users will no longer be able to create new Google+ profiles, pages, communities, or events.

After discovering a bug that impacted 52.5 million users, Google announced more than a month ago that it has chose to shut down Google+ earlier than it originally planned. So the remaining few users will have to download their content before that day arrives.

The latest beleaguered Google product to get a death date is Google+.

Rohit, who lost his wicket for seven runs, was among the seven batsmen that lost their wickets for a single-digit score. The fifth and final one-dayer will be played in Wellington on Sunday, followed by three Twenty20 Internationals.

Apps and services that make use of Google+ API, including Sign-in and OAuth, also have to mind their deadline.

The original plan was for Google+ to shut down by August 2019, however, that date was moved up to April following a second data breach. When April rolls around, Google+ will not only close down, but data associated with consumer accounts will start to be deleted.

For G Suite users, the Google+ social media platform will remain active and Google says that it should receive a new look and more features in the coming weeks.

Communities outside your domain without at least one G Suite owner will be deleted.

February 4th, 2019 - Google+ commenting options on Blogger will be removed. Soon another data leak affected the user data, and Google fast-forwarded its plan to shut down Google+. Most of the time HTML is what you want, but if you're importing to a program that supports more complex files, JSON and CSV are supported, too. Also, your Google+ account and any Google+ pages you created will be shut down.
