Ben Affleck's Batman Days Are Officially Over

Ben Affleck's Batman Days Are Officially Over

This follows confirmation that Warner Bros has set a tentative release date of June 25 2021 for their next film instalment of the Caped Crusader saga, The Batman.

It's been almost two years since Warner Bros. and DC Films took the reins of the next solo Batman film away from Ben Affleck and handed them to Matt Reeves.

Details of The Batman are thin on the ground though reports in the U.S. suggest Reeves wants a younger actor to play Wayne.

Matt Reeves, known for his work on the Planet of the Apes reboot series, Cloverfield and more, has given new details on his upcoming noir film, The Batman. Still titled The Batman, the movie will be directed and written by Matt Reeves and will be produced by Reeves and Dylan Clark.

Paddy Power saw Gemma's odds tumble from 40/1 before the show into 25/1, her shortest price yet to win the competition. Gemma Collins insisted she was "fine" after falling during her latest Dancing On Ice performance.

Yesterday afternoon, we finally got an inkling of information about Matt Reeves' long in gestation Batman film from the man himself. "He's supposed to be the world's greatest detective, and that's not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been", he said.

Following months of speculation, it looks like Ben Affleck's time as the Caped Crusader is officially over. "I'd love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime".

Christian Bale, who played Batman for the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight movies, also happened to turn 45 today. It's beginning to feel like you need a scorecard to keep track of all the new dates, and that's what we're here to do.

Released in August 2016, it made close to $750 million worldwide on a $175 million production budget, was Warners' third-biggest hit of the year and the global box office number 10, despite a negative critical reception. Then you remember Gunn, who DC scooped up with Marvel fired him, is tackling that franchise from a whole new perspective. While I'd put smart money on Harley Quinn and Will Smith's Deadshot reprising their roles, there's no guarantee we'll see the rest of the OG team, including characters like Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, and Rick Flag. "Obviously, we're not doing an origin tale or anything like that". Additionally THR adds that the film will be less of a sequel and more of "a relaunch, " with The Suicide Squad steering into a new direction from its 2016 predecessor and with a cast of "mostly new" characters.
