Chicago Bulls: Bulls Acquire Carmelo Anthony, Cash from Houston

The Houston Rockets have traded Carmelo Anthony and cash to the Chicago Bulls, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

With the news of Carmelo Anthony leaving the Rockets, Scoop Jackson explains how Anthony's legacy is still unclear.

Anthony then signed with good friend Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets, but that experiment lasted just 10 games.

The Lakers have an interest in Anthony but have no plans to waive a player to create an available roster spot for him, league sources said.

Anthony and the Rockets agreed to part ways in mid-November after the team's slow start to the season.

The deal will be finalized on Tuesday because the National Basketball Association office will not execute the deal on a holiday. The deal won't be official until Tuesday, but Anthony will never play for the Bulls, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that the team may wait until after the February 7 trade deadline to release him.

Anthony was traded by Oklahoma City to Atlanta in July, a move that preceded the Hawks releasing him to sign with the Rockets.

Anthony is a 10-time All-Star who has averaged 24.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in his career.
