YouTuber TheXclusiveAce noted that the Kap-45 was previously seen in Black Ops 4, if only briefly, through a thumbnail image in the Blackjack Shop which featured the gun in a cherry blossom skin.

Such a deviation from past practice didn't harm the risk-taking iteration's reception in terms of reviews upon October launch, nor its commercial performance, with publisher Activision proclaiming a $500m United States dollars three-day take - on a par with the previous year's Call of Duty: WWII and not too far short of 2015's Black Ops III.

The Call of Duty Companion App appears to have been updated a bit early with details on a new mode coming soon to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode. The limited-time mode provides a new way to play Blackout, and presumably Treyarch will have more of these up its sleeve. To qualify for a respawn you just need to make sure that at least one member of your squad is alive when the circle moves; the word squad is key here, as this mode is now only available for squads of 4 players. Respawning players will have to redeploy from a helicopter. If my calculations are right, that means that the mode would hit Xbox One and PC on February 6, 2019.

The users were from New York City , Los Angeles , and Minnesota , so clearly the rollout of this feature is pretty widespread. Those who have it should see a prominent icon (that looks like a speed limit road sign) in the bottom left of the Android app.

It will also allow them to compete better with other games with battle royale mode like PUBG and CS:Go. This is usually done to spice things up a bit, as the regular modes can get boring at times.

The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 time mode is now available or live on the PlayStation 4 version of Black Ops 4.

Of course, three months out from launch and Activision is contending with the continued dominance of free Battle Royale regent Fortnite, which this week introduced a new mystery element, a floating ball of ice and January 19's apparent Ice Storm, generating a renewed bout of interest as a result. Down But Not Out is live now on PlayStation 4 and runs until January 30th.
