Barcelona in talks to sign KP Boateng

The signing has come as a shock to many, with Boateng not having played to the best of his abilities in recent years.

The former Portsmouth man has scored four goals this season for Sassuolo, and only joined at the beginning of the season.

A statement on the Catalan club's website called Boateng "a player who is versatile to a fault".

The 23-year-old midfielder has a contract until 2020 and has also been linked with AC Milan. However, he's now back fit and played 90 minutes against Inter Milan last weekend.

An all-screen Google Pixel 4? Latest patent hints at possibility
The video , originally published by Ukrainian tech blog Andro News , has since been removed by them or taken down by YouTube. That's a pretty big claim, but since much of the Pixel 3's photo magic lies in software, it isn't entirely unbelievable.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Boateng said: "It's a bit of a sad day, because I leave a fantastic group and a club like Sassuolo that gave me so much".

Boateng arrives to cover the spot left by Munir El Haddadi, who moved to Sevilla, as Luis Suarez's back-up.

The Ghana global has previous experience of LaLiga Santander from his time with Las Palmas and has also starred in the Champions League with AC Milan.

The brother of Germany and Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, Kevin is a Ghana worldwide. He has top-level experience, knowledge of the Spanish league, is prepared to accept a backup role and is available for relatively cheap on a short-term deal. Denis Suarez, despite Valverde's reluctance to let him go, is still keen on a move to Arsenal, while the club are open to offers for Brazil forward Malcom.
