Police are investigating the death of a baby girl who was found in the restroom of an Amazon warehouse in the USA state of Arizona.

Officials with the Phoenix Police Department responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday night about the body of a newborn baby girl found in the building's women's restroom, according to KTVK.

The gender of the baby was not disclosed.

The baby was "beyond resuscitation" when the emergency services arrived, police told local media.

Authorities are still trying to determine the circumstances of the infant's death.

The impact of the collision overturned the Duke's Land Rover in horror scenes - but he remarkably walked away with no injuries. Still, the accident must have shaken up the whole royal family, especially with their history of tragic auto accidents.

"This is a terribly sad and tragic incident", Amazon said in a statement to AZ Family, adding they're working with cops. The company is working with authorities to "support their investigation".

An investigation is under way, Mr Lewis said. "The safety and wellness of our team is our top priority", said Amazon spokeswoman Lauren Lynch.

Arizona has a Safe Haven Law, allowing for the safe hand-off of babies up to 3 days old.

Police said Thursday morning that this particular incident did not appear to be a Safe Haven situation.

Warehouse operations continued while police were investigating the scene, according to ABC15.
